Disclosing this in an interview with the Founder/Chairman of RETECH Foundation, Engr Ronye Egborge, he said, it was a thing of joy that the Foundation had successfully organized the Paint Your School (PYS) Initiative in all the schools listed in Delta State, as it did in some other benefitting states across the country.
“The aim of the initiative is to improve the quality of education in the benefitting schools, while the students would be taught in a enhanced learning environment over the next three to four years”, Engr Ronye Egborge added.
Between 2023 and 2024, the initiative, he said, engaged 50 SS1 students in each of the benefiting schools, whose students actively participated in painting selected classrooms, guided by Paint Instructors, RETECH Foundation Champions, and school teachers.
He disclosed that, the PYS initiative of the Foundation was an opportunity to encourage teamwork/leadership skills, and instill a sense of responsibility for maintaining the schools facilities among the students.
Engr. Egborge, who praised the Delta State Government and the authorities of the benefitting schools for creating a conducive environment, that had made the PYS Initiative a huge success in the State, also commended the Federal Republic of Germany Consulate General for their generous funding of the initiative.
He added, “The impact of the project would go beyond the immediate participants. Over the next four years, more students will directly benefit from the improved learning spaces created by PYS Initiative in the Schools”.
