ONE hundred and forty-nine undergraduates from different institutions of higher learning have emerged winners of the Monday Onyeme Schorlaship scheme for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
The undergraduates, who will get a minimum of N200, 000 each passed the aptitude test organised for those who applied for the scholarship for the Federal Constituency. The aptitude test took place at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
It would be recalled that last weekend, 289 persons have already emerged at the aptitude test held for Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency at Kwale.
Addressing the students before the examination, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, who supervised the aptitude test said the scholarship scheme was to encourage and support undergraduates. He said that the award was merit-based and urged the shortlisted candidates to be focused and put in their best in their studies.
The Deputy Governor disclosed that those who came first would get N400, 000, the second position will get N350, 000 each and the third position will get additional N300,000.
He added that the aptitude test for candidates from Ika Federal Constituency will sit for their aptitude test on Saturday, 14th September, 2024.
One of the candidates who scored the highest mark, Mr Jeremiah Odiatu said he was grateful to God and thanked Sir Monday Onyeme Foundation for putting smile on his face.
Odiatu, a student of Medicine and Surgery from University of Benin, added that hard work was the brain behind his success and encouraged those who were not successful to work harder next time.
