  • WARRI – NDDC Management inspects Ongoing Construction Of State Office, Army Jetty In Delta

The Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has inspected the ongoing construction of Delta State office of the Commission and Nigerian Army Jetty at Warri which according to their assessment will be completed in record time.

 The NDDC management team was led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, accompanying by the Executive Director, Finance, Mr. Boma lyaye, , Executive Director Projects, Mr. Victor Antai, Executive Director, Corporate Services, Otito Atikase and were received on arrival by Rt. Hon. Chief Monday Igbuya, Delta State Representative.

While that of the Nigerian Army was led by the Commander of the 46 Engineer Brigade, Brigadier General Eke Odoemele, representing the GOC of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division, Bori Camp, conducted an inspection of the Nigerian Army Jetty.

The Nigerian Army Jetty, currently under construction by the NDDC, includes an armory, two administrative buildings, accommodation for over 100 personnel, an officers’ mess, a fuel dump, a medical facility, two helipad spots, and a long expanse of jetty.

 The Army Jetty scope of work also includes; construction of shore protection, concrete jetty, slipway, road network/drainage, workshop/warehouse, cafeteria, base clinic, guest house, fire station. Others include, administrative block, security watch tower, fuel dumps, associated works, helipad, fencing, water supply & fire fighting, external electrification and parade ground.

Once completed according to the scope of work, the jetty will function as a forward operational base, particularly to support Nigerian Army maritime operations in the Niger Delta region.

 The MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who was impressed with progress of work at the State Office building and the Army Jetty, said the projects will be completed in no distance time.

 The MD while speaking on the level of works done at NDDC Delta State office, said that the contractor promised to complete the project by July 2024, adding that the management of the Commission are satisfied with the work done so far.
