Work In Alignment With More Agenda, Akpoveta Urges

…As DSCHC Trains Field Sales, Enrolment Agents

THE Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC), have urged Field Sales and Enrolment Agents to perform their duties with diligence and focus, in alignment with the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the DSCHC, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, made this call while inaugurating a two-day capacity-building workshop on business and marketing strategies organized by the Commission for its agents.

The event, held at the Commission’s conference hall in Asaba, brought together 350 participants from the 25 local government areas of the state.

Dr. Akpoveta emphasized that providing decent, affordable, and accessible healthcare for Deltans remained a priority for Governor Oborevwori and his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. He encouraged the agents to apply the knowledge gained from the workshop to advance the Commission’s initiatives, particularly the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative and the Artisan Inducement Initiative.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Austin Obidi, highlighted the critical role of the agents in promoting the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori’s administration. He noted that the event was designed to enhance their capacity to perform effectively and achieve set objectives.

The Management Consultant to the DSCHC, Dr. S.O.S. Nwachukwu, along with the Director of ICT, Mr. Emmanuel Akpofure, said that following the training, the agents’ work would be governed by a target-driven performance system.

During his lecture on “Work Culture,” Mr. Charles Ojakovo of Kings Class Consulting Services, stressed the importance of sales personnel understanding and operating in line with the culture of their workplace. He urged the agents to develop strong communication skills, uphold integrity and respect, be good team players, and remain open-minded and innovative.

In another lecture titled “Basic Marketing and Sales Strategies,” a resource person discussed essential marketing concepts, effective client prospecting techniques, tips for becoming better sales personnel, and various strategies aimed at improving job performance.

The two-day event also featured question-and-answer sessions, written tests to assess participants’ comprehension, and the presentation of certificates of participation.
