Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori has lauded the new Asagba of Asaba-Elect, Obi (Prof) Epiphany Azinge (SAN), on his ascension to the esteemed stool of Asagba of Asaba.
This was contained in a statement he personally signed, yesterday. In his words, “Your Majesty, your selection for this prestigious position is a testament to your exemplary leadership, profound wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the Anioma nation, and the people of Asaba in particular.”
“Your distinguished career as a legal luminary and your contributions to academia have undoubtedly prepared you for this significant responsibility.” Ibori said.
The former governor said he is confident that his reign will usher in an era of progress, unity, and cultural preservation for the people of Asaba.
“Your wealth of experience and deep understanding of both modern governance and traditional values will be invaluable in guiding your people towards a prosperous future while honouring their rich heritage,” Ibori added.
“May your reign as Asagba be marked by peace, development, and the continued elevation of Asaba’s status both nationally and internationally,” he prayed.
Meanwhile, the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency in the National Assembly and Chairman, Committee on Nigeria-Argentina Relations, Hon Ngozi Okolie, has commended the emergence of the Asagba-Designate, Prof Epiphany Azinge, as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.
He expressed confidence that his reign will bring further peace, development and prosperity to the Asaba community.
According to him “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to God on your ascension to the revered throne of our fathers as the 14th Asagba of Asaba. Your elevation to this treasured and honoured position is an indication of your lifelong dedication, wisdom, and service, both to our community and the nation at large”.
