THE Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame, Atuwatse III, said, Itsekiri Nation is subject to positive change when necessary for fairness to themselves and their neighbours.
The Warri monarch made this statement while commending the significant strides the Itsekiri Nation have achieved in promoting peace in Warri kingdom by extending the hands of friendship to their neighbours both on land and on sea during the third year coronation anniversary of ascending his father’s throne at his palace, Aghofen, Warri.
He said, all men are created equally by God, hence the terms, slaves was banished from the palace and should not be used to qualify any being.
Ogiame said Warri kingdom is committed to peace, justice while the Aghofen, (Palace) is a symbol of refuge and a place to seek justice saying, the collective aspiration for development can only be fulfilled through unity.
According to him, every child in Warri is valued and as a good father, he embraced all his children, including the good, the bad and the ugly.
The highlight of the occasion was homage paying and presentation of gifts by the Children of Drivers and Fishermen (CODAFA) and various communities to the monarch. Amongst dignitaries present at the event was the Governor, the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oboriewvori, Chiefs of the palace and representative of the international communities amongst other dignitaries
