THE Vice-Chancellor of the Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST), Ozoro, Prof. Jacob Oboreh has applauded the phenomenal development recorded in Delta State since the state was created 33 years ago.
In a statement, Prof. Oboreh who recalled that Delta was among the nine states created by the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida on August 27, 1991, said Deltans have sound reasons to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the state.
He noted in the statement that successive administrations in the state had done excellently well in fast-tracking sustainable socio-economic growth and development of the state since its creation 33 years ago.
The Vice-Chancellor particularly lauded the massive achievements of Governor Oborevwori in just 15 months in office and prayed for greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jacob Oboreh joins Deltans to celebrate with our visionary Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as our Big Heart state turns 33 years.
“Your Excellency, you have justified the mandate bequeathed to you by God and the people of Delta State through your uncommon leadership which has moved the state to greater heights.
“Your determination and dedication to serve the state have, indeed, reflected in the MORE Agenda mantra of your administration. No doubt, areas such as healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, agriculture, infrastructural development, youth empowerment and economic development to mention but a few, have witnessed strategic transformation, which are second to none.
“As an institution, we maintain an unwavering commitment and resolve to support your vision for the state as it turns 33.
“Therefore, it is our firm prayer and hope that our dear state under your purview, would continue to celebrate greater transformations and economic sustainability,” Prof. Oboreh stated in the statement.
