THE Executive Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Engr.) Jerry Ehiwarior has recently played host to Delta State Environmental Task Force at the Council Secretariat in Agbor.
During the visit, the Chairman of Delta State Environmental Task Force, Chief God’spower Asiuwhu, congratulated the chairman for his electoral victory and subsequent inauguration as chairman of the local government.
“Holding several positions, means that the people entrust their confidence on you and find you worthy to lead them. Your humility and endearing spirit of development have earned you this new feat. We are happy to identify with you. It is our prayer that you will achieve more”.
“We are here to solicit for the local government support in the efforts to keep Delta State clean. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Let us work as a team to achieve this common goal”, he appealed.
Responding, the Council Boss, Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior thanked them for the visit. He told them about the Environmental Task Force Committee in the local government to complement the efforts of the State Government.
He disclosed that every Thursday is the local government weekly sanitation exercise. He also revealed that they have employed people who will clear and sweep the gutters from Emuhu junction down to Agbor-Obi junction to maintain a hygienic environment devoid of diseases.
The chairman assured the state taskforce of the local government readiness to work together to complement the MORE agenda of the state government.
