THE Chairman, Board of Directors, Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), Olorugun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu has promised to synergize and collaborate with the community newspapers publishers in the promotion of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
Okorodudu stated this yesterday while playing host to the Association of Community Newspapers Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Delta State Council, led by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Comr. Joseph Orhomonokpaye alongside the Caretaker Committee Chairman ACNPN, Dr. Dike Awana and others.
While addressing members of the association, Okorodudu applauded their solidarity and desire to synergize with the state owned newspaper in promoting the state project and reaching the grassroots.
“That you came here to promote synergy, and partnership is commendable as only a fool will ignore such calls. I know you have been committed to the Delta State project in your newspapers’ publications.
“You have been very supportive in promoting Delta State government and the state, not just the party but the state as a whole. Your partnership is a robust one, and we want, desire and accept it, on the ground that with the synergy that certain information will emanate from your locations.
“This synergy and partnership will enrich our publication and make the coverage very effective and of a richer content for the benefit of Deltans, as we cannot have a totality of information in a location” Okorodudu disclosed.
He appreciated Orhomonokpaye for his selfless service, and commitment to the growth of the state, even as he prays for his upliftment to a better position.
Correspondingly, the Acting General Manager, Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation, Mr Godfrey Ubaka assured the association of the corporations unwavering support in collaborating with them” My Chairman has assured you, that we will do better. It is our policy to focus on local content and i promise we will have to improved on that.
“In this venue (DPPC Boardroom), every Thursday members of the editorial board meet to discuss Delta- centric topics and other issues that will be of benefit to Deltans.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Joseph Orhomonokpaye congratulated Dr Okorodudu on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the board of DPPC and his recent election as the Publicity Secretary of the State People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Orhomonokpaye acknowledged the state owned media for their effort in the dissemination of local content to the grassroots, encouraging them to do more in order to carry the grassroots community along.
“ We are here to partner with The Pointer Newspaper, The Pointer is serving the grassroots and it will be good that we collaborate with you to reach out to the grassroots. we need The Pointer, as well as The Pointer needs the community newspapers and other private newspapers”, he added.
