By Ifeanyi Omenogor

THE Delta State Commissioner for Directorate of Riverine Infrastructural Development (DRID), Chief Ebikeme Clark has said that long lasting projects are needed in the riverine areas. He made the remarks when the Managing Director of Cedars Integrated Engineering Company, Mr. Jamil Zghayyar paid him a courtesy call in his office in Asaba.

While saying that the Directorate would engage contractors whose projects will bring joy to the state government and the people, he added that the Directorate was out to ensure that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori actualized his MORE Agenda in the riverine areas.

The Directorate, according to him, was created to look into the plight of the riverine areas, saying that only the best contractors will be engaged to do quality jobs in the localities.

Chief Clark maintained that the Directorate will not want contractors that would delay projects, but prefered the ones that can finish their projects at stipulated time.

He said the State Governor believed so much in quality jobs, hence he employed the services of Julius Berger Construction Company, adding that he equally inspects projects personally to ensure quality works, describing Governor Oborevwori as a result oriented leader.

Earlier in his address, the Managing Director of Cedars Integrated Engineering Company, Mr. Jamil Zghayyar said he was in the Commissioner’s office to identify with the Directorate.

Mr. Zghayyar said he was into quality jobs and that his construction company has executed notable projects across the globe.
