Aigui To Award Scholarship To Exceptional Students Of Iduneha Sec Sch

By Paul Egede

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship aspirant in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Pastor Kevin Aigui, has promised to award scholarships to two best students in Iduneha Community in the Oza-Nogogo. He made this announcement while speaking at the Neha Consultative Forum’s “Books and Bags Support Programme” for pupils and students of Iduneha Community, held on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

He revealed that the Meshach Miemwefan Memorial Foundation, named after his late father, will sponsor the education of two top-performing students from Iduneha Community in either the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or National Examination Council (NECO) exams. The scholarships will cover their education at any state or federal university in Nigeria.

“A male and female student from Iduneha Community with the best results in either WAEC or NECO will be incorporated into my late father’s foundation, the Meshach Miemwefan Memorial Foundation,” Aigui said. “The essence of this scholarship is to encourage our students to strive for knowledge and excellence. These two students will be fully supported and equipped academically.”

He added, “My late father, Meshach Miemwefan Aigui, was a dedicated teacher during his lifetime. He taught in both primary and secondary schools across Delta State before retiring. His passion for education led to the creation of the foundation in his honor after his passing in 2021.”

Pastor Aigui emphasized the importance of education, stating that it is a vital tool that no one should take lightly. He urged the scholarship beneficiaries to take their education seriously, despite any challenges they might face, as education has the power to shape individuals into better versions of themselves.

He also expressed satisfaction with the formation of the Neha Consultative Forum, which was established to offer financial support and guidance to young people in their pursuit of knowledge, helping them to become better citizens of both their community and society, as he pledged to sustain the school empowerment program initiated by the Neha Consultative Forum, by the grace of God. To demonstrate his commitment, he donated Two Hundred Thousand Naira (#200,000) in cash to support the upcoming “Upward School Children Programme” scheduled for October 1, 2024, which is aimed at assisting primary one pupils.
