- Two Denied Confirmation, To Re-appear Today

The Delta State House of Assembly, yesterday screened 19 persons for appointment as Secretaries to Local Government Councils.
Out of the 19 persons, two were denied confirmation just as the House confirmed the appointment of seventeen others who successfully scaled through the lawmakers’ “quiz” The confirmation of the seventeen successful nominees came following motions raised at Tuesday’s Plenary by the Deputy Majority leader, Hon. Festus Okoh at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor
Those screened include, Mr Kennedy Okoh, Aniocha North, Mr Famous Ofurobiri, Bomadi, Mr. Ebojoh Francis, Ethiope East, Mr Sunday Adjamue, Ethiope West, Mr Etumudun Martins, Ika North East, Mr Aluge-Obia Kainji, Ika South, Mr Vote Umukoro, Isoko North, Mr Gabriel Iyasele, Ndokwa East, Mr Sunday Enu, Ndokwa West, and Mr Victor Ogheneovo, Okpe.
Other nominees who were screened include Mr Ajufoh Eloka, Oshimili North, Henry Obiora Enebeli, Oshimili South, Elder Paul Oduru, Patani, Gbise Andrew, Udu, Unuavworhi Goodluck, Ughelli North, Mr John Ewenede, Ughelli South, Chukwunomnazu Osondu, Ukwani, Grayham Alakabrukeme, Uvwie and Emmanuel Nunu, Warri South. The nominees were presented by the Lawmakers representing their respective constituencies and were thereafter, asked to take a bow. The Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor after a thorough screening of the nominees, announced their confirmation with the exception of the nominees from Ika South and Ughelli South who were asked to correct the errors in their CVs and reappear for screening and possible confirmation on Wednesday, 11 September 2024. Rt. Hon. Guwor urged the nominees to contribute their quota to the growth and development of their council areas by supporting their council chairmen. The house thereafter adjourned plenary to Wednesday 11, September 2024.
