Save Our Children’s Future, Mother Tells Private School Owners

By Faith Nwanokwai

A mother, Christy Aboghe of The Pointer Newspaper has appealed to private school owners to save children in their schools from addiction to social media.

Aboghe made the appeal while speaking via Zoom during a Teens and Children Summit in Asaba.

She urged them to help the children from addiction to social media. She frowned at the manner in which school authorities had failed in their administrative and social duties, adding though they charge more money, proprietors and proprietress no longer engage the services of school supervisors to checkmate the activities of the teachers and students during school session. She said rather they recruit the services of young corps members without experience and unqualified persons to teach the students.

According to her many teachers hardly have a lesson note with which to teach the students, instead they teach them using their android phones, giving them areas of concentration as though they were university students and to worsen it, giving them home work that has to do with the use of their phones.

Aboghe urged the private school owners to impact good morals on the children rather than exposing them to the dangers that comes with the excessive use of smart phones.
