Crime: Delta Union Set to Validate Members Documentation

COMMERCIAL Motorcycle and Tricycle Riders Association in Delta State is set to validate members’ documentation as part of measures to curb crime and regulate the activities of riders and passengers using the roads.

Speaking to The Pointer,, the Chairman, Dauda Ismaila said that the exercise would enable the union to know how many riders were operating in Oshimili South Local Government Area, including other communities within the area.

Ismaila called on members to quickly go to their Secretariat and get validated to avert embarrassment by the taskforce and impoundment of their tricycle, stressing that the exercise would further protect the properties of passengers when lost in transit.

Ismaila said that it would be easy to identify genuine riders in Oshimili South local government area, adding that the union will collaborate with the Police and other security agencies in enforcement of the validating policy.

The Chairman declared openly that any rider who defaults the process would be seen as a criminal and would be treated as such, adding that the union would not tolerate any form sabotage within and outside the union.

Ismaila commended Delta State Government for providing enabling environment for riders to strive, while stating that the uinion drums support for PDP government and Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori.
