GOC Commissions Newly Reconstructed Barrack

THE General Officer Commanding, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. J H Abdusallam has commissioned the newly reconstructed transit accommodation renovated by TANTITA Security Service Limited at the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army Barracks, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The accommodation facility, formerly known as the Old Army Day Secondary School, has been transformed into a modern complex featuring 68 rooms and 18 bathrooms, with the capacity to house up to 140 soldiers

Gen.  Abdusallam, while commissioning the building project, said TANTITA Security Services Limited was an example of cooperation to the Nigerian Army for reconstructing the 3 Battalion Soldiers transit accommodation.

He commended the efforts and contributions of TANTITA Security Services Limited in his social responsibility to communities, describing the efforts of Tantita as laudable one, stressing that it will earnestly benefit the Nigerian Army.

“I am aware of the enormous resources that TANTITA committed towards achieving this project.  It will engender the spirit of camaraderie and Goodwill which will be sustained.

“I thank you most sincerely for complementing the Nigerian Army’s efforts of improving the welfare of personnel. “

He urged the management of TANTITA Security Services Limited to look at other barracks and extend its goodwill in its areas of responsibilities, and vowed that the Army will continue to cherish and sustain the working relationship.

In his remarks, the Director, Operations & Technical, TANTITA Security Services Limited’s, Capt. Enisuoh Wariedi said: ”We have reasons to be more grateful to you all the Security forces.”

While noting that the project was an interesting one, Capt. Wariedi said, “We will continue to standby you just the way you stood by us. This is the beginning of a great partnership to come.”

According to him,”You have not only contributed to our development and safety, you have also contributed greatly to the development of our security in this region (Niger Delta) and indeed, our nation, Nigeria.

On his part, the Commanding Officer of the 3 Battalion, Major A. E. Ohegbe, noted the facility’s importance in addressing housing shortages exacerbated by increased troop deployments. He noted that the revamped facility is expected to alleviate accommodation pressures and improve the welfare of soldiers and their families. High point of the event was the commissioning of the project by Maj. Gen. Abdusallam who was flanked by the Commander 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Unachukwu Nwachukwu and other top echelons of the Nigerian Military.
