Bayoko To CICSRN Members: Maintain High Standard Of Professionalism, Best Practices

BY RITA OYIBOKA

The Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, has called on members of the Chartered Institute of Certified Secretaries and Reporters of Nigeria (CICSRN) in the state to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and best practices, as the state remains dedicated to advancing their goals.

He made this appeal during a courtesy visit from the institute’s delegation to his office, yesterday.

During the visit, the Chairman of CICSRN’s Delta State chapter, Mrs. Ubege Omenogor expressed gratitude to the state government and the Head of Service for their support in elevating the state chapter to a full-fledged branch. “This status bestowed on the Delta State branch is an avenue for secretaries in the state to seek professionalism in this noble career,” she added.

Omenogor also sought the Head of Service’s support for the upcoming 2024 Secretaries and Reporters Week and the mandatory annual seminar/workshop.

Additionally, she appealed for a review of the mandatory six-year period required before secretaries can be elevated to salary grade level 15, pointing out that other civil service cadres in the state achieve similar elevation after just three years. In response, Bayoko extended his congratulations to the chapter on the successful establishment of their full-fledged branch. “This achievement is a recognition of your professionalism and dedication. The role of a secretary is indeed pivotal, serving as the backbone of any organization’s efficiency. As ambassadors of our political leaders and offices, you embody the pride of our state, and we commend you for your tireless efforts.

He assured the delegation that their requests would be carefully considered and encouraged the institute to maintain regular communication with the Office of the Head of Service for assistance with any challenges. “While we recognize your contributions, there’s always room for growth,” he added. “I urge you to continue upholding best practices and professionalism in all you do.”

In his vote of thanks, the Vice Chairman of the state CICSRN, Mr Festus Edoreh expressed gratitude for the support from the Head of Service and pledged that the chapter would remain committed to professionalism and excellence, ensuring the state continues to take pride in their work.
