Iruh Emerges Delta North YOWICAN Coordinator

THE Senior Pastor of Kingship Life Assembly, 65 Alika Street, Boji-Boji Owa, Pastor Chukwuemeke Iruh, has emerged Delta North Coordinator of Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).

The inauguration of the Iruh-led executive by the Delta State Chairman of YOWICAN, Dr. Monday Bitrus Adze, was held at Kingship Life Assembly, Boji-Boji Owa.

The other executive members of the organization include the assistant coordinator, Pastor Uche Ken Okafor, general secretary, Apostle (Dr.) Ade Solomon Ebiogbe, treasurer, Rev. Grant, Director, finance and strategy, Rev. Chinedu Wodo, director, ecumenism, Pastor Eboma Opia, all heads of block, among others.

Before administering oath of office, Adze charged exmembers of YOWICAN in Delta North to give the newly elected exco the needed support.

He admonished them to work together as a team in order to finish successfully, saying “the work is not an easy one because it is highly demanding putting in your best in whichever position you are occupying”, he said.

Speaking on the need for Christians to hold positions of authority and excel”, Marvelous Godstime Andrew stated that his message is “calling on Christians to participate actively in politics in order to be in authority and make the required changes.”

According to him, “why we pray for a godly minded people in governance is to have positive inputs rather than complaining from afar when people who don’t have the fear of God are in power.

“This is a wakeup call to all Christians particularly the youths to make good use of every opportunity that to effect the needed changes.

On his part, the guest preacher and the Presiding Pastor of Word of Grace Ministries, Agbor, Rev. Goodwill Adogho, charged the new executives on unity. Let there be unity among you”, he enjoined.

In his remarks, the Deputy Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Delta State Chapter, who is also the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Rev. (Prof.)Oke Akokotu promised to always support the executive with the assistance needed and urged them to put into good use, the advice of Rev. Adogho to work in unity so as to succeed.

In his inaugural speech, the Delta North YOWICAN Chairman, Pastor Iruh said that, the group which is an arm of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is saddled with the responsibility to oversee the activities of the Christian youths spiritually, physically, socially and politically.

He disclosed that the organization has plan to host some activities in the year, such as the revival programme across Delta North Senatorial District, the annual quiz/football competition, and the revival of cultural values amid participation in politics.

The State CAN Chairman also called on Christian youths to identify with their block groups for active participation in activities of the groups.
