The Chairman of Warri North Local Government, Hon. Festus Ashima has charged the newly inaugurated Secretary to Warri North Local Government, Mr. Adanse Ebimene Felix, to be fair to all in the discharge of his new official responsibilities, irrespective of party or other differences.
He noted that the present government was focused on improving the social economic well-being of the people by running an all-inclusive government.
Hon Ashima gave the charge in his office in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government after swearing-in the new Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).
He informed the new SLG that his role in his new assignment is all-round service delivery to the entire local government even as he urged him to endeavour to key into the M.O.R.E Agenda of the State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborvevwori in the discharge of his duties stressing that the essence of this is to make those at the grassroots feel the direct impact of the government much as his administration’s policies are closely tied to those of the state government .
While urging the SLG to be ready to welcome criticisms and ideas of all sorts, some of which could contribute to the good governance of the council, he also want him to interface with departments and agencies of both state and federal governments with a view to having the capacity to harmonize different viewpoints which could aid policy formulation and implementation.
Hon. Ashima asked the SLG to try and be a consensus builder so he can handle conflicts both internal and external by mobilizing personal and necessary support to enable him execute the administration’s programmes for optimal success.
In his response, the new Secretary to the Warri North Local Governmen, Mr Adanse Felix, assured his new boss of his integrity, unalloyed support, loyalty and utmost confidence in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities and thanked the chairman and his party for giving him the opportunity to serve in his new role.
The ceremony, which was witnessed by top officers from the legislative, executive as well as from among staff of the local government, also has members of the appointee’s family in attendance.
The high point of the ceremony was the oath-taking by the SLG.
