THE popular NEPA Line Road that links Effurun/Sapele Road and Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, has been overtaken by weeds and floods.
The Earth Road served as an important route for commuters as a bypass to the constant traffic gridlocks on the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Road by Effurun Market.
The primary health care centre in Alaka is also located along the said road.
Some concerned residents of the area have made several appeals to the Delta State Government for the construction of the road as well as the construction of drains on the road.
The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Hope Akasa, whose residence is located along the NEPA Line Link Road, attested that he has made several appeals to successive governments for the construction of the road and the construction of gutters to no avail.
Akasa, who is the highest traditional chief in Uvwie Kingdom then appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to give a listening ear to his appeal.
He also appealed for the Installation of street lights on the said road and commended and appreciated Governor Oborevwori for his giant strides in the Uvwie Kingdom in terms of infrastructural developments and appointments.
Another important resident of the area, Hon John Enakireru, who is an Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, made a similar appeal as he noted that the highly deplorable state of the road was affecting patronage in the Alaka Primary Health Care Centre.
