AHEAD of the July 13 2024 Local Government elections in Delta State, a pro-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) group, Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organisation (UPIO) has canvased support for all candidates of the party across the state.
The National Publicity Secretary of UPIO, Dr Duke Akpososo disclosed in a chat with journalists shortly after the monthly general meeting of the UPIO held at Ekpan Uvwie Local Government Area.
He said that the PDP was a people’s oriented party committed to the development of Delta State and the overall well-being of Deltans. The publicity secretary posited that the laudable achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori under one year in office were a testament to this fact.
Akpososo expressed optimism that PDP candidates if elected in the forthcoming Local Government elections, would key into the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori.
He therefore admonished Deltans not to waste their votes for other political parties in the elections. Akpososo also disclosed that the group has urged the Urhobos in particular and Deltans in general to vote for the PDP and vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Federal Government level in the 2027 general elections if they do not want to experience hardship again.
The National Publicity Secretary of UPIO also disclosed that the group would pay a visit to HRM Clement Ikolo, the Ovie of Ewu Urhobo Kingdom, and the Okuama IDP Camp in Ughelli South Local Government Area, soon.
