Delta Assures Investors Of Conducive Business Environment

Individuals and organisations hoping to do business in Delta State have been urged to take advantage of the high returns prospects of their investments.

The State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, made the call in Warri at the grand opening of Protea Hotel by Marriot, an international hospitality brand.

Governor Oborevwori, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, said the state was open to investors, describing the opening of Protea Hotel as a testament to the conducive environment for business to thrive.

The Governor noted the Marriot had carved a niche for itself as a foremost hospitality brand, expressing optimism that their interest in Protea Hotel, Warri, would attract investors to the Oil City and contribute to the economic growth of the state.

He charged the management of the hotel to ensure that their services met international standards and called for more of the likes of Marriot’s investments in the state, even as he assured the organisation that it would not regret investing in the state.

Oborevwori stated that the hotel would not only provide employment opportunities for youths in and around Warri, but also list the city, and by extension the state, as where international standard hotel could be found.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Deputy General Manager of Protea Hotel, Mr Joy Amadu, said the desire to provide world-class hospitality in the commercial city of Warri informed the movement of the hotel to Marriot International brand.

He assured that the hotel would attract tourists and investors to Warri and the environs, as well as spotlight Delta to the whole world as a preferred hospitality destination.
