Agbateyiniro Secures N50m From SMEDAN To Empower Traders

THE Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, has revealed that his administration was able to secure a N50 million fund from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to empower traders.

Agbateyiniro, who made the disclosure, at the Warri South Council Sub Secretariat in Warri, Delta State, during the opening ceremony of a one-day Financial Literacy and Micro-Credit Management Skills for Market Traders in Warri South Local Government, promised that his administration will add additional N50 million to the fund secured from SMEDAN, for the empowerment of traders in Warri South Local Government.

Whilst urging traders in Warri South Local Government to always put on the Warri South Brand Committee apron donated by the Council and ensure cleanliness of the markets in Warri, the Warri South Local Government Boss, stated: “People Living With Disabilities and widows that we used to be paid N10,000.00 monthly, will start getting N20,000.00 from next month, due to exco approval.

Earlier in her address, Warri South Council Supervisor for Human Capital Development, Mrs. Misan Eke, commended Comr. Agbateyiniro, for making the resolving loan scheme a success.

She expressed optimism that the loan will boost the businesses of the traders, after the one-day capacity building training on micro-credit management by experts.

The Chairman of Market Men and Women in Warri South Local Government, Mr. Stephen Amalili, thanked the Comr. Agbateyiniro administration, for the soft loan, saying traders in Warri South Local Government Area never had it so good.

Leaders of Igbudu, Dore (Main Market) Pessu, Ogbe-Ijoh, Mciver and Ugbuwangue Markets’ associations, took turn to praise the Agbateyiniro administration for the gesture.
