A man identified as Samson was killed and set ablaze by an angry mob in Evwreni community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, after he allegedly murdered his son and a nursing mother and injured others during a violent outburst.
Samson reportedly smashed his toddler son to death around 2 a.m. and fatally attacked a nursing mother, Princess, while injuring another man.
The suspect, said to have been exhibiting strange behaviour prior to the incident, was eventually apprehended by youths, beaten, and set ablaze along with his motorcycle.
The Delta State Police had not yet issued an official statement, but a senior security source confirmed the events.
