Ethiope East LG Boss Tasks Residents To Keep Their Environment Clean

THE Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, has assured that his administration will ensure that the area is always kept clean, calling on residents to do the needful.

He said this while evacuating a heap of refuse at Abraka Main market recently.

Chief Ogedegbe, who supervised the evacuation, said a clean and healthy environment remains one of his administration’s cardinal objectives.

Since assuming office as chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe has taken the lead in organizing a comprehensive environmental sanitation exercise across the local government area.

Ogedegbe moved heavy-duty equipment to the Abraka Main market to clear heaps of refuse, posing serious environmental and health challenges to the traders and buyers.

This initiative, according to him, aligned with the commitment of the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori through the Ministry of Environment to foster healthy living amongst Deltans.

Chief Ogedegbe assured the people of Ethiope East of his administration’s preparedness to raise the bar in environmental cleanliness.

He pledged to ensure that the people of the area comply with the state government’s environmental policies while also highlighting the importance of taking proactive steps to create a safe and healthy environment for the people.

Some market women and other traders expressed their gratitude for the chairman’s efforts, recognizing the positive impact the evacuation of the refuse heaps has on their health and business environment.
