IN line with its avowed determination to keep Ika South Local Government Area clean, the Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior-led administration, has evacuated a heap of refuse behind Greenwood Hostel, close to former Tipper Garage, in Agbor metropolis. The exercise was witnessed by residents of adjoining streets, and supervised by some officials of the local government.
Residents of the area, who were impressed, expressed gratitude to Engineer Ehiwarior for coming to their aid, even as they applauded him for making sanitation one of the planks of his administration.
They maintained that it was reassuring to observe that since his assumption of office about two months ago, the chairman had been making deliberate efforts to ensure Ika South a model local government area.
They encouraged the chairman to continue in his drive to make Ika South a much more conducive place to reside and to do business in.
They prayed that God would continue to give him the enablement and more wisdom to always priotise policies and programmes that would impact positively on the lives of the people.
In their separate remarks, the Supervisory Councillor, Environment, Comrade Kelvin, Head of Department Environment HOD, Mrs Dorothy Kachikwu, and Deputy Director, Environment, Mr. Jude Uwadia, who supervised the exercise, all commended the Chairman, Engr. Ehiwarior, for his zero tolerance for a dirty environment.
They explained that the exercise would be a regular one, as according to them, the local government was poised to rid the area of refuse and filth, especially in undesignated areas.
