IN a display of support for academic excellence, the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Hon. Anthony Ofoni, has honored a primary five pupil of David Ejoor Primary School, Effurun Barracks, Miss Ummul-khairi Ibrahim with a cash of N50,000
Her outstanding presentation of a poem, titled ‘Together as one people; at the Uvwie Praise Day Celebration held on October 1 in Effurun, Delta State, earned her other items such as new school uniforms and essential learning materials from the local government chairman, whose recognition of talents highlights his commitment to promoting education within Uvwie Local Government Area.
In addition to the award, Hon. Ofoni symbolically adopted Miss Ummul-khairi, bestowing her the name “Efe” to signify her as an “Uvwie child.”
This gesture underscores his promise to ensure her educational needs were met and that she remained protected from maltreatment.
