Take Actions That Will Promote Cleanliness In Asaba, Okediachi Tells DTSG

President, Asaba Youth Council, Ogbueshi Obodo Okediachi has called on the Delta State government to take actions that will promote cleanliness in the state capital.

Ikediachi made this known while speaking with our reporter during a monitoring visit to some residences in Asaba. He said the only way the state can look befitting before visitors was for the state government to implement a disciplinary action on defaulters of waste disposal in the state. He appealed that a permanent mobile court for environmental sanitation be placed to help sanction offenders on daily basis and not only during sanitation days.

The Asaba Youth Council President called on the attention of the state government to persons who have taken abode at the Koka interchange, adding that government should intervene as their presence was posing a threat to the state capital.

Okediachi requested that the taskforce on waste management in the local government be empowered to enable them discharge their duties, adding that they were in dire need of mobility so as to access the various locations in the state capital were dirts are littered.

While frowning at the indiscriminate waste disposal, he pleaded that they be funded by the government so as not to allow the task officers to collect money on the street, adding that only then will Asaba look like the state capital that it is.
