Oshimili North Youths Told To Be Good Ambassadors

The youths of Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State have been advised to be good citizens of the country and shun all vices capable of truncating their future as leaders of tomorrow.

The advice was given by the leader of Oshimili North Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon. Chris Nwamgbor, at the maiden summit of Oshimili North youths, held at Atuma-Iga community, recently.

Hon. Nwamgbor, who is the Coordinator of the youth summit, explained that the essence of the summit was to inculcate the virtues of patriotism and good citizenship in them,  to make them become good ambassadors of their various communities, the state and the nation.

He declared that the participants were told to embrace good leadership qualities as leaders of tomorrow and abstain from abuse of illicit drugs, cultism and other crimes in order to add value to their lives and the society at large.

The member representing Oshimili North Local Government in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Frank Esenwah, who was hosted in the summit, admonished the youths to key into the various programs of the state government aimed at empowering the youths to better their lives.

Hon. Esenwah told them that the era they are presently could be called “ Youth O’ clock”, in view of the state government’s commitment to programs geared towards transforming the quality of life of youths in the state.

Meanwhile, the leader of Oshimili North Legislative Arm, Hon. Chris Nwamgbor, used the occasion to empower 25 youths both male and female with the sum of N10,000 each. He noted that the money was to cushion the effects of the hardship currently being experienced in the country. The epoch event, was attended by over 400 youths drawn from the ten wards in Oshimili North Local Government Area, and was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, Amb. Uju Okolo, Executive Assistant to the Governor, Mr. Olise ifeajika, Chief Ikechukwu Iwegbu and all the Councilors.

Prior to the commencement of the meeting, the organizers paid a visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Atuma-Iga Kingdom, HRM Obi Daniel Chukwuka Ogbudo for his royal blessings.
