A Nigerian, Mr. TITIGWAYE Isaac, has narrated how he escaped and became a fugitive after failed attempts to initiate him into a deadly cult.
According to him, “I Mr Titigwaye Isaac has become a fugitive and refugee after fleeing my father’s home due to threats from suspected cultists. These men, attempting to force me into their group, warned that if i refused to be initiated, they would kill me and my wife and children.
“All this ordeal began on August 31, 2024, during my birthday celebration. A group of around 15 men in flashy vehicles interrupted my event, demanding to speak to me. They claimed my late father who is dead had designated me as his replacement in their cult and that i should be initiated once i turned 42 years, I was Shocked and frightened, I therefore refused telling them that I am a Christian by faith, but the men were unfazed. “They attacked me and tried to abduct me, after much argument the elderly once said okay they should give me seven days to make a decision to join them by the initiation or face death, along with my wife and children. and they will still afflict me with dangerous disease,
which the next day I went to report the threats to the police, but no action had been taken by the police from on 1st of September to the 7th day of September 2024, the cultists returned, attempting once again to force me away, but I resisted.
“My wife and children cried for help, but our neighbors where terrified by the violent men so nobody intervene. In the chaos, I managed to escape and fled to hi Lagos, when I fled to Lagos the cultists men continued to hunt me down, calling me continuely, telling me that I have no hiding place that they have members everywhere in the country that not even the police can save me, this ongoing trauma led me to nightmares, fainting spells, and social isolation.
“They even followed me and traced to Lagos.
“At one point, I attempted suicide by jumping into the Lagoon, but a good Samaritan help me, when I gain consciousness he ask why do I want to end my life, I narrated the whole story to him, and promise to help me and take me to a place where he know I will be help and have a better life again, so that day he took me to a Catholic church that night, and the next day very early in the morning he took me to a small boat and make arrangement for my escape, and even in the boat I still lost consciousness several times, but the last time I lost consciousness it took so long time for me to gain myself, so when I open my eyes I saw myself here in Ireland, and someone directed me here”, he said.
…How He Was Threatened By Cultists
“Mr Isaac Titigwaye this is to inform you of the final decision of the brotherhood initiation since you refused to comply with us the day we visited your house to inform you on the 31 of August and 7th of September 2024 and also another message to remind you of your initiation and you failed to comply. This is brotherhood decision: 1: Death 2: Death to your entire family 3: Death to anyone found around your house and your business place.
“And also to let you know you can run but you can never hide from us because we are all over Nigeria and Africa and you must replace your father position because that is the decision of your late father”, they threatened.
In another instance, they also threatened him as follows: “Mr Isaac Titigwaye this is to inform you of your time that you have just two days left to be fully initiated into the brotherhood to replace your father’s position, we hope to hear from you and to see you and in the initiation ground in two days time. Failure to do that is death”.
