Julius Berger Undertakes Remedial Rehabilitation On Abala Street

The Germany-based construction company handling the multi-billion naira flyover project in Enerhen Junction, Julius Berger has embarked on a remedial rehabilitation on the axial road of Abala Street off Enerhen Junction Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

A worker from Julius Berger, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed to our correspondent last weekend that the company was undertaking this project at no cost to the local community. This initiative aims to facilitate smoother vehicular movement along the road.

Residents and commuters have expressed their gratitude towards Julius Berger for this generous gesture. A landlord in the area, Patrick Djebah, praised the construction company but urged that the rehabilitation should be conducted without obstructing access to local properties. Meanwhile, a pedestrian, Johnny Okito, also commended the company, noting that the project represents a positive response to the needs of both commuters and residents.

At the time of reporting, there was a noticeable absence of long queues of commercial tricycle (Keke) operators who typically use the Abala Street entrance as a parking area, contributing to a more orderly appearance in the vicinity. It is worth noting that a similar remedial rehabilitation effort was previously carried out on the nearby 2nd Oilfield Road, situated between Polaris and Union Banks off Effurun/Sapele Road.

However, our correspondent observed that other axial roads in Water Odeli, 1st Marine Gate, and Etuwewe remain in poor condition as of the time of this report.
