DPPC Announces All’s Set For 30th Anniversary Celebration

THE Chairman of the mobilisation committee of The Pointer Newspaper, Mr. Patrick Nwanze, yesterday, announced that all is set for the marking of the 30th anniversary of the Delta State-owned media scheduled for October 28th.
The upcoming event to be held at the Grand Hotel and Resort in Asaba, will mark three decades of the Delta Printing and Publishing Company (DPPC)’s excellence in public communication and community-centered journalism in Delta State and beyond.
This event is anticipated to be graced by staff and management of DPPC, prominent state officials, and traditional leaders to honour the contribution of the institution to Journalism.
The celebration, themed “Honouring Truth and Unity Through Excellence in Public Communication,” will feature a prominent speaker and academic, Prof. Joyce Ogwezi of Dennis Osadebay University, who will discuss “The Mass Media and the Challenges of Consolidating Nigeria’s Democracy and Cultural Ethos.”
Notable figures expected at the milestone occasion include the Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, His deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom (the father of the day), HRM Felix Mujakperuo, former Minister for Information Prof. Sam Oyovbaire among others.
The celebration will also include an awards segment, honouring personalities who have positively contributed to the state and The Pointer’s advancement of journalism since its inception in 1994.
