The POINTER @30: Esewezie Honoured With Award Of Excellence

THE Chairman of Os­himili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Es­ewezie has been honored with award of excellence in public service as The Pointer Newspapers cel­ebrates its 30th year an­niversary.

At the event which took place at the Nnebisi hall Grand Hotel Asaba, Hon. Innocent Esewezie was honoured with an Award of Excellence in Public Ser­vice in recognition of his developmental milestones in Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Hon. Esewezie received the award alongside many prominent Nigerians from various walks of life, rang­ing from Business, Public service, Media, Politics and Traditional institutions.

The local government boss was honored for his exemplary leadership in Oshimili North which has resulted in massive infra­structural development, youth empowerment, community engagement, and security through the Public and Private Prop­erty Protection Bye-law which was enacted to protect public and private properties in the communities.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Esewezie thanked the management of The Pointer Newspapers, for finding him worthy of the prestigious award and assured the peo­ple of his determination to remain committed to the actualisation of his administra­tion’s Puta-Ife More agenda.

It will be recalled that in less than four months after assuming office for his sec­ond tenure, Hon. Esewezie has already commenced the building of an ultramodern healthcare facility inside the premises of Okpanam Primary Health Centre.

Other projects being ex­ecuted by the local govern­ment authority under his watch, includes the reha­bilitation of internal roads in Ibusa. Some of the ongo­ing roads construction are the Okanga routes, passing through Ezukwu, Ashia-nta to Ashia-eke market Ibusa.

He has also ensured regu­lar sanitation exercise to keep Oshimili North clean, as well as regular engagement with critical stakeholders in the local government in oth­er to understand the needs of the communities and to sustain peaceful coexistence amongst the people.
