Work According To Specification, World Bank Standard, STOWASSA Warns Supervisors, Contractors

The General Manager of the Delta State Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (STOWASSA), Engr. Anthony Unuafe has urged supervisors and contractors handling the agency’s water schemes to deliver work according to specifications and World Bank standards.

He warned that he will not accept any substandard work. Unuafe issued this directive during a baseline survey training organized by the agency in Asaba.

The training focused on strengthening participants’ skills to ensure that the quality of services meets specifications, tracking the progress of SURWASH projects, and equipping participants with the knowledge of using safety and measuring equipment.

During the event, he also unveiled modern safety and measuring equipment for effective and efficient service delivery.

The participants received training on key components, including accurate data collection, use of the Open Data Kit (ODK) for data gathering, performance indicators, and proper supervision, monitoring, and inspection.
Engr. Unuafe emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive baseline survey to establish a benchmark for monitoring project outcomes and impact.

In his presentation, Resource Person, Ikemefula Anuchauka highlighted the importance of having reliable data and using evidence-based strategies to improve service delivery.
