Relief Materials To Be Given Directly To Flood Victims, Rivers Deputy Gov Assures

RIVERS State Depu­ty Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu has as­sured that the State Flood Committee will continue to work within its man­date of providing requisite relief materials to people affected by flood in im­pacted communities.

The Deputy Governor explained that, so far, the State Flood Committee was deploying its second phase action, which is mitigation of flood effect on the people.

She said the State Flood Committee has visited impacted communities, spoken words of courage and continued to provide them with food stuffs, toi­letries, and medical drugs to alleviate the hardship on the affected people.

Prof Odu gave the assur­ance when she addressed newsmen as the Chairman of the State Flood Commit­tee at a press conference in her office at Govern­ment House in Port Har­court, yesterday.
