RIVERS State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu has assured that the State Flood Committee will continue to work within its mandate of providing requisite relief materials to people affected by flood in impacted communities.
The Deputy Governor explained that, so far, the State Flood Committee was deploying its second phase action, which is mitigation of flood effect on the people.
She said the State Flood Committee has visited impacted communities, spoken words of courage and continued to provide them with food stuffs, toiletries, and medical drugs to alleviate the hardship on the affected people.
Prof Odu gave the assurance when she addressed newsmen as the Chairman of the State Flood Committee at a press conference in her office at Government House in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
