Members of Adiamunma Family and Christian community of City of Angels Ministries of the Holyghost and Fire Inc., Ogbeani Quarters, Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State, has continued to express worries over the disappearance and safety of Evang. Donald Jasper Adiamunma since the kidnap of his Muslim friend who converted to Christian.
A community leader and family member who expressed worries over the whereabout of Evangelist Donald Jasper Adiamunma, has called on the Federal Government and Security Agencies to come to the aid of Evangelist Jasper, saying that his sudden disappearance was as a result of constant threat to his life by some unknown assailants.
The community leader noted that, the family was worried about the whereabout of their brother, who has left the town and went into hiding since last year October 10, 2023. He noted that, even the just celebrated Yuletide (Christmas/New Year) period was observed in a low key by the Adiamunma’s family and the community at large.
The community leader and source who is close to the clergy while speaking to newsmen on condition of anonymity said, trouble started when
Evang. Donald Jasper Adiamunma decided to conduct a 10 years remembrance service after the kidnap of a popular prophet, Prophet Joel Isah Mohammed of the muslim faith who decided to convert to christanity.
The source noted that, Prophet Isah Mohammed as was fondly called by all was a friend closer than a brother to Evang Donald Jasper Adiamunma According to him, Prophet Isah was adopted by unknown gunmen on March 29, 2011 while conducting a crusade programme at Co-operative Hall, Issele Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.
According to the source, unknown armed men stormed the venue of the crusade and adopted the prophet while he was waiting to be ushered in to minister. “Unknown armed men surrounded his car, shot to the air, dragged him out of his car, pushed him into their own car and drove off”.
The source and community leader said, the kidnappers contacted Evang. Jasper and the family the following day asking for ransom.
He noted that, following a petition to the Inspector General of Police, who assigned Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to conduct investigation and arrest the culprits, neither the body of Prophet Joel Isah Mohammed was recovered nor his release since March 29, 2011, after paying a ransom of N4 million.
The source said, Evang Jasper decided to conduct a remembrance service in honour of his friend as March 29, 2021 make it 10 years since the adoption of Prophet Isah Mohammed.
“That was when Evang Jasper’s trouble re-surfaced. Since then, the life of our clergy man and that of his family has been under constant threat by unknown assailants”. The community leader stated.
The source revealed that, on October 9, 2023, arising from a clash between armed fulani herdsmen and Ubulu-Uku Vigilante Group, Evang Jasper was attacked at City of Angels Ministries of the Holyghost and Fire Inc., Ogbeani Quarters, Ubulu-Uku, where Evang. Donald Jasper Adiamunma fellowship use to meet weekly.
According to the source, Evang. Jasper was alleged to have master mind the arrest and investigation of the fulani herdsmen. The same unknown assailants who have been after his life since the kidnap of Prophet Isah Mohammed took advantage of the rampage in Ubulu-Uku community on that faithful day and attacked him.
He was said to narrowly escaped being killed, and has since ran away from Ubulu-Uku for the safety of his life and his whereabout has remain a source of worry to members of his family and the community. His escape according to sources, was said to be through the mercy of almighty God.
It would be recall that, it was the same Ubulu-Uku community, the Late Obi Edward Akaeze Ofulue III of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom, Aniocha South Local Government Area was kidnapped and murdered on January 6, 2016 and his decomposed body was found in Umunede, a neighbouring community in Ika Local Government, Area, Delta State.
The four accused persons, three suspected kidnappers, and the person from whom the police recovered the late king’s telephone handset were arrested and charged to court. Yet justice seems to be perverted from January, 2016 till the time of filling this report.
