- Onyeme, Guwor, Ezechi Lead Flag-Off Campaign
AHEAD of the July 13, 2024 local government election, Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, on Thursday, gave reasons why the party will sweep the polls across the state.
Esiso, who presented the party’s flag to Barr. Possible Ajede, as the flag bearer in Ukwuani Local Government Area, spoke glowingly on why the PDP will have a landslide victory in the election and other polls at all times in Delta State.
According to the PDP Chairman, “in the country today, nobody is saying anything good about the opposition political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), our women, our mothers can no longer go to the market because things are very expensive.
“The journey of PDP’s return to Aso Rock starts with the local government elections and we are happy that Deltans, as usual, are speaking with one voice, endorsing PDP candidates who were carefully chosen based on their popularity.
“With Possible, it is possible and we thank our Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme for his commitment to upholding the ideals of our party and for supporting our party to clinch victory.”
The state’s Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, officially flagged-off the campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sir Onyeme said that the chairmanship candidate of the party, Barr. Possible Ajede did well in his first tenure and deserves a second term in office.
He thanked members of the PDP in Ukwuani for choosing Ajede as the party’s candidate, noting his candidacy will make the election easier as he was loved by the people.
At the well-attended campaign flag-off rally, which took place at Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state, were also the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi and the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emumotimi Guwor.
Other leaders of the PDP in the state, who attended the rally include Hon. Val Areyenka, Elder Moses Iduh, Chief Fidelis Tilije, Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor, among others.
From Obiaruku, the campaign train moved to Isiokolo, Ethiope East local government area, where Olorogun Esiso presented Chief Augustine Ogedegbe to the people as the chairmanship candidate of the PDP for the local government election.
