THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area, has stated that “no amount of gang-up or political vendetta against Senator Ifeanyi Okowa can erode his enviable achievements as governor of Delta State bwtween 2015 and 2023.
In a statement signed by Hon. John Nwagimejen and Comrade Ameachi Igumbor, the leader and chairman of Ika South PDP, respectively, it responded to the allegations of misappropriation of funds during his tenure as governor of Delta State.
“We are not neophytes in politics. The allegations against Senator Okowa, which led to his invitation by the EFCC, can only concern those who do not understand politics. Senator Okowa exceeded the expectations of the people of Delta State. We cannot list all that he did in Ika South. With the upgrade of the College of Education, Agbor, to a university, Alihame has become the fastest-growing suburban town in the state. The Agbor people will forever be grateful to him”, the PDP leaders stated. While urging the public, especially Agbor people, not to be swayed by the campaign of calumny against the former governor, the PDP leaders appealed to the current governor of the state to complete the ongoing projects in the area and initiate new ones.
