The indigenes of Ewulu Community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have nominated the Okpala-Uku of Ewulu to lead the Community in an interim capacity.Pa Ezekiel Abor, the oldest man in the area was nominated to oversee the affairs of the community pending the return of the traditional ruler of the community, Obi Godwin Onyenweuwa. An indigene of Ewulu who spoke to newsmen under the condition of anonymity, said the decision to nominate the eldest man was to ensure that there would be no leadership vacuum in the community.
It would be recalled that the Ewulu Community was recently thrown into crisis as a result of the alleged murder of a youth identified as Eziemechine Agenu.
Agenu was reportedly shot dead during a meeting at the palace of the Obi of Ewulu over an issue surrounding sales of land.
