 Traders Praise Chinye As Afor Market Construction Begins

TRADERS at Afor Market, Issele-Uku, Delta State have expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Anio­cha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Chinye for fulfilling his promise to construct a state-of-the-art market.

Chinye has also assured shop owners they will retain their spaces once the project is completed.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, the President of the Traders Progress Union, Comrade Chuks Ndiabua, commended the Chairman’s pledge to complete the market within four months and retain current shop owners.

Ndiabua prayed for continued strength for Chinye to complete the project on schedule and assured traders would comply with tax payments, now that they will have a condu­cive environment to conduct their business.

Hon. Chinye outlined the market’s new features, which will include 380 open stalls, 130 lock-up shops, two warehouses, bank cash centres, 16 toilets, an Omu shop, an administra­tive block, a slaughterhouse, dual entrance gates, a security building, two motor parks, and a waste reservoir.

Chinye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to “bringing fresh air” and providing substantial value to resi­dents in appreciation of their support, especially through de­velopment in Issele-Uku, the administrative hub of the area.

LG Boss Initiates Bill For Warri South Property Devt Committee, Others

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro has transmitted an executive bill to Warri South Council Legislative Arm, to get legislative approval for the establish­ment of Warri South Local Govern­ment Area Property Investment Development Committee.

When established, the Warri South Local Government Area Property In­vestment Development Committee, is expected to work with relevant stakeholders to actualize the Island to be constructed in Warri South local government area.

Other Executive Bills Comrade Agbateyiniro transmitted to the Warri South Legislative Arm are:- A Bye Law Providing the Procedure for the Enforcement and Punishment of Road Traffic Violations in Warri South Local Government Area., a Bye Law Providing for the Procedure for Collection and Enforcement of Revenue Accruable to Warri South Local Government Area and a Bye Law providing for Enhancement of Security within Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.”

Uviejitobor Appointed Acting ‘Chairman Of Chairmen’ In Udu

Engr. John Uviejitobor has been appointed as the Acting Chairman of all Chairmen, known as Super- President of the Community Presidents Forum in Udu Kingdom, signaling a new era of governance among the local communities.

The appointment was confirmed during a recent congregative session at the Otor-Udu Community Town Hall, attended by community presidents and ruling house representatives.

Engr. Uviejitobor, who has been serving as the President of Orhuwhorun Town, will be joined by Pst. Great Nykugbe of Ujevwu Community as Secretary and Oghenechuko Paul of Oleri Community as the Public Relations Officer. This new leadership trio is set to steer the forum temporarily for one month during which they are tasked with overseeing forthcoming elections.

The decision, endorsed by 18 present out of 31 community presidents in Udu, also received the blessings of the seven ruling houses in Udu Kingdom, underscoring a broad base of support for the newly appointed officials.

Upon accepting his new role, Engr. Uviejitobor expressed his gratitude towards the community leaders and the ruling houses for their trust and confidence. He emphasized his commitment to elevating the forum’s impact on regional development and maintaining the trust placed in the new leadership.

Outgoing Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Kpomalefe was praised for his about six years of diligent service, having substantially contributed to the forum’s current stature and effectiveness. Engr. Uviejitobor also took the opportunity to extend his appreciation to key figures in Udu’s leadership, including HRM, E. B. O. Delekpe, Ovie of Udu, Hon. (Chief) Vincent Oyiborode, Udu Local Government Chairman and Hon. (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor, Commissioner for Oil and Gas in Delta State, who doubles as President-General of Udu Kingdom.

With a promise to establish a robust constitutional framework, Engr. Uviejitobor and his team are poised to guide the Community President Forum towards achieving greater peace and development across Udu Kingdom.

Community Leader Underscores Importance Of Culture

THE Isagba of Ogwashi-Uku, Chief Jude Ozah has said that a community without culture and tradition will always lack development.

He made this known when he celebrated Ine festival at Ogwashi-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. While urging the people to see culture as a way of life, he called on the people of Ogwashi-Uku to continue to live in peace and unity, love one another and be their brother’s keeper.

Ozah enumerated some of the benefits of Ine festival to include; showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the kingdom harvest of new yam and happy reunion among the sons and daughters of the community at home and abroad and seeking more of God’s blessings.

Hon. Stephen Ezediunor, Chief Emeka Ekwenuya and others who were present to celebrate with Dr. Ozah, described him as a great pillar in Ogwashi-Uku, saying that his philanthropic gesture has brought succour to many.

It was noted that Chief Ozah’s development ges­tures in the area were equal to none, while he is an uncommon philanthropist that has the interest of the people at heart.

 Ajede Receives Praises From Service Commission Chairman, Otirhue

THE Chairman of Ukwuani Lo­cal Government, Hon. (Barr) C.S. Possible Ajede has received com­mendations from the Chairman of Delta State Local Government Ser­vice Commission (LGSC), Asaba, Hon. Dcn. Joseph Otirhue, for his ingenious leadership, innovative and inclusive administra­tive style.

Otirhue gave this com­mendation during his visit to Ukwuani Local Government, Obiaruku, for the screening of local government staff and staff of the Local Edu­cation Authority (LEA) ahead of the implemen­tation of the new na­tional minimum wage.

The commission chair­man was represented by the member represent­ing Delta South in the Delta State Local Gov­ernment Service Com­mission, Princess Dame (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude.

According to the Com­mission Chairman, Uk­wuani local government is the best and most or­ganized local govern­ment they have visited so far in Delta North Senatorial District since the screening exercise commenced.

In the words of Prin­cess Mrs. Igbrude, “Uk­wuani Local Government Council is the best we have visited so far in Delta North. This Council is by far the most orga­nized, and your Chair­man is a humble leader. The reception Ukwuani accorded us here is filled with so much dignity, and we are very grateful,” she stated.

Speaking further, the commission chairman commended the #Do­MoreAgenda Torchbear­er for his punctuality to work and commitment to grassroots governance and development. “You have a time-conscious Chairman, and it’s com­mendable,” she added.

Earlier in his encapsu­lated welcome remarks, Barr Ajede applauded the Delta State Local Gov­ernment Service Com­mission for embarking on the screening and physical verification of civil servants in the state, which he noted will fur­ther strengthen the state workforce and enhance productivity.

The Ukwuani local government boss also reaffirmed his adminis­tration’s commitment to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Fran­cis Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda while delivering on his mandate to the people.

While the screening was ongoing, the Ukwua­ni chairman directed that Ukwuani Mobile Clinics provide free medical care for all the staff.
