THE Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, says his administration will reconstruct the Creek Road Market.
The market is located in the Old township axis of Port Harcourt of Rivers State.
Governor Fubara visited the market and walked round a section of the trading posts yesterday. He was greeted by cheering traders who expressed joy that his visit will bring succour to them.
Governor Fubara frowned at the unorganised and reckless display of wares on the entire stretch of Creek Road and some of the adjoining streets by the traders.
He spoke and said: “We are here to inspect for ourselves the position of things in Port Harcourt Township.
“You are aware that some weeks ago, a committee was inaugurated for the redevelopment of Port Harcourt Township.
“Since then, I have been getting a lot of calls from the old boys of Port Harcourt Township that if you have to do anything, first of all, we need to sort out the issue of market. “We are aware of when the Creek Road was reconstructed that the market was relocated to No 3 Field and it affected the face of the Town.
