MORE Agenda Domesticated In Oshimili ‘N

THE Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme has unveiled the Puta-Ife M.O.R.E Agenda blueprint of Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, in Okpanam.

The Puta-Ife M.O.R.E Agenda blueprint is a detailed plan of the administration of Hon. Innocent Esewezie, which fuses the M.O.R.E. Agenda of the state government with the Puta-Ife Agenda, which he campaigned with prior to his election months ago.

Thye governor, while speaking noted that “The Puta-Ife Agenda Is not different from the MORE Agenda” of the State Government, and commended Hon. Esewezie for taking the plan of the Sheriff Oborevwori administra­tion to the doorstep of the people by domesticating it in Oshimili North”.

He hailed the Oshimili North Chairman for having vi­sion and character to serve his people passionately and described him as a new breed of politician whose works speaks for him.

Similarly, the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor further eulogized Hon. Es­ewezie for putting his people first in his agenda to bring development to Oshimili North.

The Keynote Speaker, Mr. Niyi Yusuf detailed the chal­lenges facing local governments in Nigeria and spoke on the opportunities that abound. He analysed the advan­tages Oshimili North had and called on investors to take advantage of a government efforts to build partnerships and collaboration especially as the people of the local government area were friendly and peaceful.

The chairman of the event, Mr. Walter Akpani, the Man­aging Director and CEO of Providus Bank PLC, assured of his company’s collaboration with the local government. He noted that his company was ready to commit finan­cially and also in advisory role.

Also speaking, Dr. Michael Afamefuna Okonkwo, PWAN Group chairman noted that he was impressed with the local government Chairman for putting together a qual­ity compendium and Blueprint which helps in building investors confidence.

He expressed the commitment of his team to the Puta- Ife M.O.R.E. Agenda and promised to build or renovate at least six schools in Delta State within six months. He further revealed that massive developmental projects were set to commence in the first half of next year with Oshimili North being among the top beneficiary.

Chief Elvis Chukwudi Okonji, the MD/CEO of GPC Limited, in his remarks, pointed out that it was time to return home. He said he was inspired by the activities of the government and assured of his intention to build on the already existing partnership between his organisation and the local government.

Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, the Director-General of Delta State Job Creation office, said he was not surprised by the happenings in Oshimili North owing to the fact that an improved and even better Hon. Esewezie was in charge of her affairs.

The Council Consultant, Krescent Konsult was joined by Comrade Austin Eloka Ajufo, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) and Mr. Ikechukwu Odeh, the Special Advisor to the Chairman in giving elaborate detail of what the Puta-Ife M.O.R.E. blueprint was all about. They outlined the preparatory work the Council have done in both policies and projects and also highlighted areas where investors can key into to help bring more develop­ment to Oshimili North.

The high point of the event was the unveiling of the Puta-Ife MORE Agenda blueprint, by the Governor, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme to the applause of everyone present, while he promised that the state government was looking forward to its careful implementation.

Four students who performed very well in JAMB were awarded free scholarship till graduation from tertiary institution, while food boxes were shared to selected persons in the local government area to help ameliorate against the difficulty being faced in the country.

The event was well attended by top government func­tionaries, captains of industries, traditional rulers and political leaders from all over the state.
