BY ANDREW IKEHI

THE Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), yesterday constituted a four-man Ad-hoc committee to investigate the alleged gross misconduct of the two suspended members of the House, Hon. Oboro Preyor and Hon. Chukwudi Dafe.

The committee, which is headed by the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, has Hons. Bridget Anyafulu and Benson Obire as members while Mr. Smart Edoge will serve as secretary/clerk of the committee.

It would be recalled that the House, few weeks ago, slammed suspension order on Hon. Chukwudi Dafe, member representing Ukwani State Constituency and, Hon. Oboro Preyor, member representing Bomadi State Constituency

Both lawmakers were suspended from the House for a 14 legislative-days following an undisclosed offence which was, but classified as gross official misconduct

Also at yesterday’s Plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the Delta State Local Government amendment bill, 2024 sailed through first reading on the floor of the State assembly.
