THE Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on water and land security, Hon. Alexander Chiazor, has expressed his gratitude to the governor for appointing him to support the More Agenda initiative.
Speaking to The Pointer in Issele-uku praised both the majority leader in Delta state House of Assembly representing Aniocha North state constituency, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, and Barrister Ada Josephine Kachikwu for their efforts to involve youth in governance, noting his commitment to fulfilling the governor’s mandate and ensuring development reaches Ward Two in Onicha-Ugbo.
He emphasised that community security is a top priority and pledged to work with security agencies to create a crime-free environment, particularly in local waterways.
He reiterated the importance of making the MORE Agenda accessible to grassroots communities and highlighted that recognising the contributions of youth in governance would help mitigate restiveness among young people. Chiazor noted that the governor understands the challenges faced by citizens, which motivated him to appoint youth to key positions, aiming to reduce youth-driven crime rates.
Chiazor acknowledged the presence of selfless leaders in the Aniocha North Local Government Area and encouraged young people to support the government, citing Nwaobi’s commitment to local development. He also commended Emma Chinye, the chairman of the council area, for his transformative efforts, and praised Dr Ochei Charles for his leadership within the PDP in the area.
Despite challenges posed by criminal activities, including the threats from Fulani bandits to local farmers, Chiazor affirmed that the council area remains peaceful under Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
He urged the government to regulate herdsmen activities and called on the youth to reject criminality, advocating for education and skill acquisition as pathways to achieving democratic benefits for their community.
