IN a landmark move to foster international collaboration and drive transformative change, the Ovie of Ewu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, paid a significant working visit to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Abuja.
The visit, aimed at exploring developmental opportunities for the Ewu Kingdom and fostering sustainable growth through strategic partnerships, has the Oniemo of Ewu Kingdom, Her Royal Majesty, Ugonwa Onwuneme-Ikolo; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Barr. Victor Odjemu; Ms. Ihuoma Onwuneme; and Chief David Patrick Onajophe, in attendance.
Upon arrival, the Ewu Monarch and his delegation were warmly received by the Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, Kristine T. Waeringsaasen, and Head of the Political Section, Nina Selmar.
The meeting focused on critical areas of mutual interest, including: Women’s Empowerment and Education; Strategies to promote gender equality and empower women through education and economic opportunities; Rehabilitation of Displaced Persons: Collaborative efforts to address the needs of displaced persons and promote sustainable reintegration; Sustainable Utilization of Flared Associated Gas: Innovative solutions to harness flared associated gas for economic growth and environmental sustainability.The discussions underscored a shared commitment to innovation, sustainable development, and community upliftment.
Ewu Monarch in his address articulated his vision for driving transformative change in the Kingdom through purposeful international collaborations.
In furtherance of these efforts, His Royal Majesty has established a dedicated Marriage Committee tasked with eradicating underage marriages within the Kingdom. Additionally, a special committee has been inaugurated to address cases of rape and drug addiction, ensuring that offenders are handed over to law enforcement authorities.
Responding, the Norwegian diplomats praised the King’s proactive approach and expressed their readiness to explore avenues for meaningful cooperation.
