170 Udu Residents Get Free Medical Treatment

ABOUT 170 residents of Ekete community in Udu Local Gov­ernment Area of Delta State have received free medical treatment sponsored by Jodel Clinic and hospi­tal limited, in conjunction with Delta State Primary Healthcare Agency.

The free medical treatment was designed as a way of sustaining the legacy of the founder, Late Dr. Joseph Eluebueke, who hailed from Ogbe-idibon quarter of Abavo in Ika South Local Government Area.

The Proprietor, Mr Samuel Elue­buke and the hospital Administra­tor, Rev. Mrs Blessing Eluebueke, who spoke to journalists, said that the Late Chief Medical Director, DR. JOSEPH Eluebueke had passion for humanity and the hospital manage­ment are upholding his legacy by giv­ing back to the community through programmes like the free medical mission outreach.

Rev. Eluebueke, who narrated the academic profile of the late director, who passed away after a brief illness on 16th May 2024, stressing that he was yet to pass the part II of internal medicine, a residency programme at Delta State University Teaching Hospital.

She pointed out that the hospital had been able to engage the services of an Associate Professor in Medicine and a consultant physician in Com­munity medicine, Professor Efegbere Henry Akpojobaro with two other resident doctors and nurses.

Eluebueke disclosed that sequel to the hospital registration with Delta State Ministry of Health, they were able to carry out free medical and surgical outreach where about 170 residents benefitted.

However, Rev. Blessing Eleubueke commended the organization that partnered with Jodel Clinic &Hos­pital Ltd, like Global Community Health Foundation, Excellent Com­munity Education Welfare Scheme, Professionals for Humanity Inter­vention, PWAVE Diagnostic Center, and Sunshine Pharmacy.

She also commended Jadline Oil and Gas and Orange Hotels for their numerous contributions to the suc­cess of the free medical outreach,

In response, a beneficiary who identified himself as Engr. Imo com­mended the hospital for conducting a free medical services to the people of Ekete Community, saying that such gesture if sustained, would reduce the health challenges of the poor people and beyond.

those who witnessed the flag off were the Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Vin­cent Oyibode, High Chief/Dr. Henry Sakpra, Hon. CHIEF Peter Uviejitobor Okagbare, Hon. BARR. Orugbo JP and numerous others.
