A leading educational institution in Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Maris Schools, is set to host its Festival of Nine Lessons and CarolS on Friday, December 6.
The event, which begins at 11am, will feature Her Excellency, Ezinne Catherine Onyeme, wife of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, as special guest of honour.
“The annual festival has become a cornerstone of the school’s tradition, serving as a platform to foster community, celebrate the essence of Christmas, and inspire spiritual reflection through a blend of scripture readings, carols, and creative performances. The presence of Her Excellency, Ezinne Onyeme, underscores the importance of this event, which not only highlights the values of faith and unity but also serves as a significant cultural gathering in the region.
The school said the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols offers an opportunity for students, parents, staff, and the wider community to come together to commemorate the Christmas season in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude. “Through the nine lessons drawn from the Bible, participants are guided on a spiritual journey that reflects on the birth of Christ and the enduring message of hope and salvation”.
