Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the fifth edition of the State Communication Workshop (DELCOM 2024), scheduled to be held from December 17 to December 19 2024.
The Director General of the State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe disclosed that the three-day capacity building programme with the theme “Advancing Delta: Strategies For Public Communication and Effective Media Engagement,” is designed to enhance the efficiency of media appointees, social media influencers and media partners.
He further disclosed that a renowned communication scholar and former Head of Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika, will be the Chief Trainer, to be supported by Prof Joyce Ogwezi, Head of Mass Communication Department at the Dennis Osadebey University, Asaba. Oghenesivbe, who is also DELCOM State Coordinator, assured that the training would enable participants to articulate and project the implementation of the MORE agenda, as well as the achievements of Governor Oborevwori.
He added that 150 participants are expected to benefit from the exercise sponsored by the state government, and supported by the State Internal Revenue Service, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), and other partners.
