Colleagues Honour Delta’s First Female Dean Of Admin Officers, Itoku

THE first female Dean of Administrative Officers in the Delta State Civil Service, Mrs. Stella Itoku has been honoured by the female administrative officers in the State Civil Service led by the Permanent Secretary in-charge of Directorate of Local Government Affairs, Mrs. Ngozi Nwanze. The ceremony took place at the former Deputy Governor’s Conference Chamber, Asaba.

Speaking at the event, Nwanze said it is the first time a woman is occupying the position of the Dean of Administrative Officers in the state since its creation in 1991 and every woman in the cadre deemed it fit to honour and celebrate her as the most senior officer.

She noted that Mrs. Itoku has been a woman of great importance to the service as she keeps adding value in her office schedules and ensuring that administrative duties were carried out properly with less friction so that work related strains will be minimal in service delivery. Nwanze said that her charm and approach to her duties radiates in her godly appearance which simply adds to her beauty.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mrs. Anthonia Ubogu, observed that the Dean of the State Administrative Officers, who was being celebrated, is known for her commitment to her responsibilities as she does not shy away from what she should do, rather she takes every assignment with ease and laughter as though they were sumptuous meals while others see them as very tasking.

Dikewonosi gave the promise while fielding questions from journalists after he received the flag of the PDP from the party’s council chairman in Idumuesah.

She said that people were observing the level of commitment of individuals in the workforce and only those who have distinguished themselves, will be truly recognized on the day of reckoning.

The Chairman of the Delta State Civil Service Administrative Officers Forum, Mr. Karo Ovemeso said that he could not afford not to be at the event, “not minding it is women engagement”. He described the Dean as one of a kind who everyone want to identify with due to her humane attitude that attracts people who wants to live meaningfully.

The Director, Planning, Research and Statistics of Delta State Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mrs Ruth Iro Awa noted remarkable changes in the administration cader of the State Civil Service especially with the introduction of the Pay Slip into individual phones of all in the state workforce which has made it easier for workers to access their pay slips when needed. Responding to the different appreciation from different angles, the Dean, Mrs. Stella Itoku thanked the organisers for touching and awesome expressions that left her dumbfounded as she least expected such. She said that words will not be enough to tell the con- tents of her heart in appreciation to them. She, however, advised all to be diligent in their respective offices as hardwork has a way of being rewarded by God.

She asserts that women are great achievers especially when the vision is clear and attainable. She then suggested a Delta State Female Administrative Forum which will work assiduously for the well-being of the Delta State Administrative Forum which has both men and women. The motion was accepted by all and the PS, Women Affairs Ministry, Mrs. Oghenekewe Agas was made the president while Mrs. Kenute was elected the Secretary. The highpoint of the celebration was the presentation of gift to the Dean by Mrs. Nwanze.
