Okorodudu Charges DPPC Staff On Unity, Sustained Collaboration

BY RITA OYIBOKA

The Chairman of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), Olorogun (Dr) Ebenezer Okorodudu, has called on staff members to promote unity and refrain from actions that could hinder the organisation’s mission for progress.

He made this call, yesterday, during the final board meeting of the year, held at The Pointer Newspapers headquarters in Asaba, Delta State capital.

According to him, “Under my chairmanship, we have made significant strides in moving The Pointer forward. We recently celebrated our 30th anniversary, a grand occasion that reflects our legacy and commitment to quality journalism.

‘’Training of staff members has been institutionalised.  Additionally, we have established a robust online presence that we are continually innovating to meet excellent standards.

“Our daily circulation of e-copies reaches top government officials across the state and beyond, while physical copies are distributed throughout local government areas. The era of unsold copies is behind us, and these achievements would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our staff and management.”

Dr Okorodudu also commended the Deputy Sports Editor, Mr Moses Etu, for his exemplary work in organising a novelty football tournament as part of the anniversary celebrations. He further lauded Mr George Yoro of the Production Department for his commitment.

Expressing optimism about the future, Okorodudu called for continued support for the board members, reaffirming his belief in government funding for the printing press to benefit the organisation and the State in general.

Also speaking, the Chairperson of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Pointer Chapel, Comrade Rosemary Nwaebuni, praised Okorodudu’s leadership, saying, “Your incomparable strides in advancing The Pointer are commendable. We will seek your continued support to ensure our organisation thrives.”

Meanwhile, Mr Moses Etu appealed for sustained training opportunities within the organisation, particularly for external training programmes. “Investing in our staff through training is vital for our growth and will enable us to maintain our competitive edge in the industry,” he said.
