THE Proprietress of Leocons Educational Center, Asaba, Delta State, Mrs. Martina Osaji has expressed hope of overcoming the challenges confronting the education sector in the coming year.
Osaji made this statement during the school’s end-of-year and Christmas party in Asaba.
In her address, she extended heartfelt gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings throughout the year, while also appreciating the efforts of individuals who contributed to the school’s successes.
“I want to sincerely thank our sponsors for making this celebration a reality and for their continued contributions to the growth and progress of the school,” she said.
She acknowledged Mrs. Vanessa Okwuraiwe for her tremendous support towards the school’s development , as well as Mrs. Chukwufumnanya Juwah and Mrs. Fumnanya Osaji Nwoko for their unwavering commitment.
While addressing parents and guardians, Osaji stated: “your trust and partnership have been invaluable to us, and we do not take them for granted.”
“To our hardworking teachers, your dedication and passion for nurturing these young minds have left a significant impact, and I deeply appreciate you all.” She also praised the pupils of the school, calling them the “heart of this institution” and encouraging them to continue embracing kindness, hard work, and love for one another.
The Chairman of the occasion, Lady Uche Onwuma, described Christmas as the season of the birth of Jesus Christ, urging attendees to reflect on its spiritual significance rather than focusing on material indulgences such as extravagant spending or feasting.
Onwuma reminded everyone of God’s love, as demonstrated through the gift of His only Son to save humanity and restore the relationship between God and man after the fall of man in Genesis 3:1–20. She said, “God, in His mercy, gave His only begotten Son to reconcile us back to Him. The birth of Christ is a testament to God’s unwavering love and His plan for our redemption.”
Lady Onwuma urged parents to protect their children, particularly the girl-child, during the festive season.
She emphasized the importance of vigilance, saying, “Do not leave your children in the care of just anyone. Let us say ‘no’ to violence against young women and girls this season.”
